In his book "A Dream is a Genius
" (1999) the great japanese director Akira Kurosawa
named his 100th movies list.
Among them you found in rank 31 Therese Raquin
and this is what he said about it :
- Citation :
- 31. Therese Raquin (Marcel Carne, 1952)
"Carne is famous, above all, for "Les enfants du paradis", isn't he? This
movie is a smaller piece, but I love it - it was shot in very cool
eyes, and shows how important a solid screenplay for a movie is."
The list has been made available on line on this blog by someone named Lucas in Rio de Janeiro (Aqui jazz Lucas) on January 21 2008.
It seems that this book is rather hard to find because it has only be released in japanese language. You could go to Tarkovski's website for some informations about it. The name of the book in Japan is : Yume wa tensai de aru.
